This cutlass is made from a high-impact plastic polymer, making it virtually unbreakable with a realistic balance. Like sabers from Renaissance history, this weapon has a one-handed grip for mobility and slashing strikes.

Starting with the parts of the design, this sparring sword has the Black Messer Blade, black basket hilt guard (PR2031), black grip (PR3021), and a round black pommel (PR4031) together in one weapon. You can remove any of these parts and replace them with different versions or different colors to personalize your own HEMA sparring falchion from the Red Dragon Armoury brand.

The blade is reinforced with a high-tensile steel rod, giving it added strength and flexibility. It runs along the full length of the handle. This removes the typical handle flex that is often associated with other synthetic training swords. Like the real thing, the straight blade has a swept tip for slashing and thrusting. Further down, the hilt comprises of a polymer basket hilt guard, rubber grip, and polymer pommel.

This sword comes unassembled, but is easy to put together. First, slide the blade’s tang down into the basket hilt guard. Second, slide the grip over the tang below the crossguard. Finally, screw the pommel onto the bottom of the tang until it’s secure.
