Patterned entirely after its namesake, this Henry V Sword with Scabbard and Belt is based solely on the historical sword owned by King Henry V of England, which he wielded with deft skill in many of his battles fought during the Hundred Years War. Labeled as a Type XVIII.1 by Oakeshott, this sword is everything that a medieval sword should be, and it does its original proud. The original, when handled by Ewart Oakeshott, was said to be quick, powerful, and light, as well as one of the best conceived weapons of the Middle Ages. This sword echoes that design and those qualities. The blade gracefully tapers to an acute tip, making this sword perfect for slashing and thrusting, while the four-sided, flattened diamond cross section draws it closer in design to the swords of the 15th century. The blade is dual hardened and forged from 5160 high carbon steel. The guard, crafted from mild steel, features thin quillons that curve upwards towards the blade, while the one-handed grip consists of wood secured to the full-length tang and wrapped in leather to ensure a comfortable hold. The wheel-style pommel helps counterbalance the blade and is peened to the tang for added strength. Included with the sword is a matching scabbard, great for keeping this kingly blade safe and secure when not in use. An interlaced sword belt comes attached to the scabbard for easy wearing.
