Interested in the warriors of ancient Japan? The Uesugi Katana celebrates the Dragon of Echigo from the Warring States Period. Inspired by the Sengoku general and daimyo, this clay-tempered sword features a curved T10-steel blade. The functional sword has a visible hamon or temper line. The edge of the blade has a Rockwell hardness of 60, while the spine has a hardness of 40.
The forged Japanese-style sword continues with a black tsuba. Near the tsuba, a black part of the handle called a fuchi has golden lettering. The tsuba features Uesugi Kenshin embossing. Then, the handle has a ray skin grip. Black cotton wraps over the grip. The handle also features a golden dragon menuki. It represents the nickname for Uesugi Kenshin, who was also called the Dragon of Echigo. The handle ends with more golden detailing on the end or kashira. Finally, this sword comes with a black scabbard or saya. The saya has a matte black textured finish. The Uesugi Katana is great for sword competitions, collections, and more.
