Ieyashu Tokugawa was the tactician daimyo that began the Edo period in Japan. The Tokugawa Katana honors this strategic warrior. Made from T10 high carbon steel, this blade is fully functional. It features the curved shape found on many Japanese swords. In addition, it has a very visible temper line, also called a hamon.
Next, the hilt begins with a stylized double-sided tsuba. On one side, the tsuba depicts Tokugawa with his mon, or crest. The crests are golden. On the other side, the tsuba shows the outside of a traditional Japanese home. The hilt continues with a black wrapped grip. The handle has rayskin underneath the black wrapping. Finally, the katana comes with a matching black scabbard. This scabbard is called a saya. The saya has a black wrapping at the top. The Tokugawa Katana is a weapon of great quality. You can take this sword to a reenactment or add it to a Japanese armoury.
