The Duke is inspired by the works of a French Renaissance man known as Eugene Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc. In the sword community, he is known for authoring the work known as the “Medieval Encyclopedia,” whose illustrations informed the design of this steel sword. The Duke is forged from 5160 high carbon steel, a chromium-alloyed spring steel that produces an incredibly resilient and flexible blade. This type of steel is also resistant to rust and boasts an impressive edge retention. This is a fully functional weapon forged with a full tang. Having a full tang means the blade is forged as one piece that extends into the handle. This gives it strength and balance.

This cruciform arming sword has a wheel-shaped pommel, forged from mild steel, with a raised disc in the middle. The pommel then ends in a peen block, meaning the tang is locked over the pommel for reinforced durability.
