This fully functional blade combines 5160 high-carbon spring steel with rugged G10 handle slabs and dark fittings. The blade is forged from tough 5160 high-carbon spring steel with full tang construction. A fuller runs along half of the blade, beginning near the hilt. Designed with cutting performance in mind, the Tactical Tanto combines practical blade geometry with durable modern construction.
Instead of a traditional wrapped handle, the Tactical Tanto features removable G10 grip slabs. A diamond-checkered pattern covers the grip, helping provide a more secure hold, especially in wet conditions. The slabs can be removed to allow the blade and tang to be properly cleaned and maintained. Two fasteners secure the slabs to the tang. The straight handle has gently rounded edges for a comfortable grasp. A cord lanyard passes through a hole at the end of the hilt.
A matte black stainless steel tsuba, or guard, adds to the tanto’s understated tactical look. The kurikata on the matching scabbard also has a matte black finish, creating a cohesive appearance from sword to scabbard. These simple fittings complement the modern construction without taking away from the Japanese-inspired form.
The Tactical Tanto comes with a matching scabbard equipped with a sageo cord. Please note that the color of the sageo may vary from what is pictured.
