Description

Take on your enemies in true medieval style. You are sure to feel like a warrior ready for battle wielding Medieval Lance Head on a polearm. Made from high carbon steel, this medieval spearhead has a three-sided point with unsharpened edges. Each side of the spring-tempered point has a hollow-ground face. The faces end a third of the way down the lance head.

The medieval lance becomes a socket at the bottom. There, the conical socket has a pair of holes. These holes allow the head to secure to haft of your choice, sold separately. Hardware does not come included. Create your own medieval polearm with this spearhead. It is ideal for DIY projects and wielding at medieval reenactments.

History of Lances

This lance spearhead takes its design from historical weapons. The most common wielders of the lance were cavalry who would gallop with the lance in hand. The French, British, Germans, and many others would wield this polearm to punch through armour. It was especially useful for getting between sections of chainmail and gaps in plate armour. The lances design allowed it to puncture easily and inflict a destructive entry wound.

In addition, it was more agile and lively than some other polearms. For example, it is much lighter than a halberd that would have more metal. Thus, the lance was a speed-based weapon in a couple different ways. This made the lance ideal for cavalry to wield on horseback.
