Warrior, the battle is upon you. You have prepared for this day with cunning, skill, and the MAA Sergeants Halberd Head. Go forth toward victory! Made from 1055 high-carbon steel, this infantry halberd head is fully functional and sharpened.

This durable polearm head features a blackened axe-style blade, a spearpoint at the top, and a spike on the back. The axe blade has a gentle concave edge that angles outward slightly at the top. Concave curls form the top and bottom of the axe portion of the halberd head. There are three cutout crosses in the center of the axe blade. This axe blade is great for cutting and chopping.

Next, the spear-like point at the top has a central ridge for strength. The sharpened point is ideal for thrusting. Meanwhile, the spike in the back features an edge along the curved underside and along the tip of the curved point. You can use it to hook an opponents weapon.

In the center of the medieval halberd, there is a straight socket. The socket has a couple of holes in it for attaching it to the haft of your choice, sold separately. Why not fight like a medieval mercenary with the MAA Sergeants Halberd Head? It makes a great addition to any DIY project or reenactment gear. Wield it at a medieval battle or add it to your armoury.

Halberd and Sergeant History

Both the halberd and the sergeant found themselves in both military and ceremonial roles. The halberd came into use on the battlefield in the 13th century. It was relatively inexpensive to produce and was more versatile in combat.

Today, it is still the ceremonial weapon of the Vatican guard and it was carried by British sergeants until 1793. The sergeant is a military rank and a government role as the sergeant-at-arms. Originally, the military rank was junior to a knight, and the office of sergeant-at-arms was basically a royal bodyguard in medieval England.
