Based on the Kriegsmesser used by the Landsknecht, the Knochenbrecher Sword with Scabbard is a truly fearsome blade to wield in battle. The name of this sword is German for bone breaker. Forged from 5160 high carbon, this functional sword features a long, single-edged blade. You can choose between a sharpened blade and an unsharpened blade. The curved blade flares outward towards the tip. The balance point of the blade allows for delivering sweeping, heavy strikes. Also, the blade has a higher Rockwell hardness rating at the edge than at its core. In addition, the Darksword Armoury logo adorns the blade near the hilt.
Next, the sword continues with a mild steel crossguard. It consists of a shell guard with two quillons. The quillons gently curves towards the blade. Meanwhile, the shell guard extends outwards to protect the users hands while wielding the sword. Then, the hilt has a two-handed wooden grip. Rivets secure the wood to the visible tang of the blade. At the end of the handle, there is a mild steel pommel. The pommel slightly extends out to one side. Finally, this sword comes with a wooden scabbard. Black leather wraps around the scabbard. This functional sword makes a great addition to any armoury or weapon collection. Bring the sword to your next historical reenactment.
Please be aware that this sword is hand forged, and as such, its finish and its overall measurements can vary slightly from what is shown here. Also, be aware that this sword is made to be practical, tough, and hardy, and its finish, being hammered and hand forged, can sometimes feature marks from the forging process.
