Seaxes were not just deadly weapons, they were also symbols of status and power. Enter the Deluxe Gold-Inlay Seax of Beagnoth, a limited edition masterpiece that shows off your prowess.
A Historical Masterpiece of Design
Inspired by the 10th Century Thames Scramasax, this sax of Beagnoth is a weapon that blends function and fashion. Not only is it stunning to look at, it’s also ready for battle. Forged as one piece from EN45 high-carbon steel, this scramasax has been heat-blued to give it a darkened, patinated finish. Carbon steel is also renowned for its strength and durability. Only 250 of these limited edition seaxes were ever made.
The unsharpened, single-edged blade has intricate 18k gold runes inscribed along its spine. These runes are inscribed by hand in the Futhark style. A fuller in the middle has gold trim. On the back of the blade, the gold and silver design is a geometric dotted pattern. Like its historical inspiration, the dark brown wooden handle is carved by hand to look like knotwork. The knotwork handle has two gold rivets securing it to the tang. This knotwork gives you a unique tactile experience. The guard and pommel are gold-inlaid facets.
This seax replica comes with a brown stitched leather sheath. When sheathed, the stitching ensures the blade remains secure. This sheath has two asymmetrical belt loops so it holds the Anglo-Saxon dagger replica at a slight angle, making sure it doesn’t fall out. These loops are embossed with intricate shield knots.
This historical seax also comes with a wooden display plaque and a certificate of ownership. The plaque is dark brown with brass fittings. At the top, the fitting reads SEAX OF BEAGNOTH. The middle of the plaque has two wooden hooks for holding and displaying the seax. At the bottom, there is a long fitting that gives you background information on the weapon. The back of the plaque has a layer of protective felt so it won’t scratch your walls. Two hanging mounts also make it easy to display.
A Tribute to the Anglo-Saxons
This piece is more than just a weapon. It’s a gateway to the Middle Ages, when Anglo-Saxon conquerors swept across Northern Europe and Britain. People used the seax as a tool for farming, hunting, and cooking, but they also carried it as a sidearm in battle. This medieval seax is no different. Whether you’re embodying a reenactment persona from the Migration Period or a Viking warrior, this historical Saxon knife is the ideal addition.
Carry it in its sheath to complement your Renaissance fair outfit. Hang it up in the walls of your stronghold to turn heads and spark conversation about expert craftsmanship and the enduring legacy of European warrior cultures.
