A must for the English Civil War reenactor, the Cromwell Sword honors the powerful Lord Protector of England, Oliver Cromwell. Made from 1566 high-carbon steel, this functional sword takes its design from an original English Civil War sword held at the Royal Armouries in England. To begin with, this sword has a straight single-edged blade. A fuller runs down two-thirds of the length of the blade.
Then, the sword has a historically correct mortuary style hilt. This type of hilt has a cup-shaped design facing the blade. Also, there are cutout bars on three sides of the grip. There are holes in the black cup-shaped guard. Golden details adorn the edges and scrolled bars of the guard.
Meanwhile, the hilt has a sharkskin-covered grip. Wire wraps around the grip in a spiral. The hilt ends with a rounded scent stopper-shaped pommel. The pommel and guard are blackened steel.
Finally, this sword comes with a scabbard. Brown leather covers the scabbard. In addition, it has a blackened steel chape and throat. You can take this 17th century sword to your next historical reenactment or battle.
