Classic Medieval Long Sword

Description

As swords evolved from the Middle Ages to the High and Late Middle Ages, they became longer and stronger. This Classic Medieval Long Sword, for instance, is a perfect example of a Late Middle Age sword, made for use with either one or two hands. Essentially similar to a bastard sword or a hand and a half sword, this weapon was a versatile one that echoed the necessary change in style, as heavier armor needed heavier, more powerful blades. This sword does not disappoint, featuring a diamond shaped cross-section for stiffness and strength, and a powerful point that would have allowed a sword like this to pierce mail, if need-be. The sword-blade is crafted entirely in fine steel, and its edge is left completely unsharpened. The pommel and guard are both made entirely in cast steel as well, and the quillons of the guard are ornately decorated with cross cut-outs at the terminals. The hilt is wrapped in leather, and the large wheel pommel offers a good counter-weight to the blades length. Each version includes a wooden, leather wrapped scabbard. The versatile design and traditional look of this Classic Medieval Long Sword makes it a prime arm for any warrior to wield, as well as a great historic piece to have as a collectible in your home, too.
