Description

Inspired by one of the finest Viking swords ever found from the 10th Century, the Cawood Viking Sword brings the world of the Vikings into your arsenal. This battle-tested sword is a worthy weapon for your Viking-inspired kit.

Battle Ready Craftsmanship

Also known as the Korsoygaden sword, this Viking sword is inspired by historical finds and forged as one piece from carbon steel. It’s inspired by the sword found near the River Ouse in North Yorkshire, England. Carbon steel is renowned for its strength and durability. This historical Cawood sword is designed to be wielded with one hand for mobility, leaving your other hand free to hold a shield or another weapon.

Starting with the sharpened and double-edged blade, it has a fuller and a distal taper. Fullers remove excess material from the blade without compromising its strength. The distal taper means it’s slightly wider at the forte and gradually narrows into the foible. The forte is the stronger side of the blade closest to the hilt and the foible contains the tip. The stainless steel crossguard has an angled chappe that extends over the base of the blade like a langet. Both quillons curl toward the blade.

Beneath the crossguard is a black leather-wrapped handle. It accommodates a secure one-handed grip with its wrapped texture and three pairs of embossed rings. At the bottom, the stainless steel pommel provides a great counterbalance to the design. The multi-lobed pommel is inspired by historical Viking sword designs and ends in a button.

This medieval steel sword comes with a black leather-wrapped scabbard. There is a notch at the stainless steel throat for accommodating the chappe in the crossguard. For added convenience, there are adjustable straps and a belt loop attached to the scabbard. These straps are secured with metal rivets. You can wear this scabbard on either side or across your back. There is a stainless steel chappe at the bottom to ensure the tip doesn’t poke through.

For Clan and Glory!

This Cawood sword replica is a reliable, versatile, and affordable choice for those looking to add a historically-inspired touch to their ensemble. It’s perfect for Viking warriors, jarls, thanes, and huscarls, suiting a wide range of characters from the end of the Viking Age, around the 12th Century. The crossguard is reminiscent of later arming swords, making it a unique statement of style among other Viking and Norse swords. Just like an arming sword, this Korsoygaden sword replica has a shorter blade that allows for swift cuts.

Carrying this sword is easy thanks to the scabbard. The belt loops attached to the body can hold the sword at an angle on your belt, or you can tie it to your belt to hold it straight up and down like historical Viking warriors. Show it off by holstering this Viking sword replica across your back. These versatile wearing options give you the ability to mix and match for your character, costume, or cosplay.

If you’re a sword collector, a Viking fan, or a history buff, this sword also looks great displayed in your collection. Hang it up in your stronghold decor as a fierce reminder of the Vikings. Add it to your Renaissance fair costume and let all those around you marvel at a real steel sword at your side. Wear it as a part of your Viking-inspired cosplay for a touch of historical authenticity.
