The Banshee sword takes its inspiration from two fierce Asian bladed weapons, the Thai Krabi and a close relative, the Burmese Dah. Made from 1566 high-carbon steel, this functional sword features a slightly curved, single-edged blade that is wider towards the tip.
To begin with, a fuller runs down its length along the spine. The geometry of the blade is designed primarily for cutting. It has been heat treated for shock absorption and edge retention.
The sword continues with a tapered handle that is wider near the blade. Screws secure it in place. Black leather wraps around the grip in a spiral. Then, the hilt features a grey crossguard and rounded pommel. On the side of the guard, there is a button that releases the sword from its locking mechanism that secures it to the included scabbard.
Finally, the wooden scabbard has a matte black powder-coat finish. It has a blackened steel chape and throat. There are two pairs of rings for hanging the scabbard. In addition, the scabbard comes with a shoulder strap. This short sword is ideal for historical reenactments and anywhere else that you need a functional sword.
