Moving down the length, the base of the blade is unsharpened. There is a single hooked extension facing the cutting edge that acts as a guard. Riveted to the tang are G10 fiberglass handle plates. This survival odachi is constructed with a full tang. These plates have truncated edges for a secure grip. Being a greatsword, you can wield this apocalyptic samurai sword with both hands and room to spare. Instead of a pommel, the handle curves out slightly to keep your grip from slipping off.

This APOC sword comes with a black fiberglass scabbard. This scabbard is MOLLE compatible with perforated holes. At the top, the MOLLE compatible rig is made from Kydex. Kydex is a thermoplastic acrylic that’s great for keeping your blade protected from harsh weather, chemicals, physical damage, and more. There is a locking mechanism in the throat of the scabbard that keeps the blade secure when sheathed. Two buttons on the scabbard click into place around the odachi’s guard. At the bottom of the scabbard, there is a hole that allows drainage in wet environments.
