Sabers are renowned weapons of status in many militaries around the world, and the 1934 Pattern Polish Military Saber is an excellent example of their timeless grace.
Worthy of the Polish Cavalry
Wielded by Polish soldiers as late as the 1939 invasion of Poland, this saber is a testament to the 1934 pattern issued to the Polish cavalry brigades shortly before World War 2. Forged as one piece from C60 high-carbon steel, this Polish cavalry saber is a stylish weapon with a long and storied past. Carbon steel is renowned for its strength and durability.
Starting with the unsharpened single-edged blade, it has a slight curve like other examples of Polish military sabers with two fullers. The wider fuller is in the center of the blade and the thinner fuller runs down the spine.
The D-guard is made of brass and protects your grip in battle. In the middle of the crossguard, two langets extend over the base of the blade. Behind the guard is a thumb ring as a counterbalance. The brown handle is notched wood, securing your grip and riveted to the tang. The broad nut-shaped pommel also helps keep your grip from slipping.
This cavalry saber comes with a steel scabbard. This scabbard has one steel hanging ring near the throat for tying. At the bottom, the scabbard has a wide fish-tail chape.
