Thorin Oakenshield was not known for his love of elves, or anything of elf make. For that reason, he might have cast so fine a blade away, had Gandalf not warned him of Orcrists greatness, and indeed it was a fine blade in the hands of a dwarf prince. The Hobbit - Thorins Orcrist LARP Sword is a stunning recreation of the sword found and wielded by the leader of the dwarven company. Orcrist was found in a troll hoard, along with its brothers Glamdring and Sting. Like its brothers, it is a fine elvish weapon, featuring a single-edged cleaver-blade that swelled slightly towards the tip. No doubt, this cleaving edge, along with its use against all of goblin-kind, led to the blades nickname as the Goblin-Cleaver. The curved guard features elven etching, which runs up onto the blade and translates as tooth of dragon, while the rich brown hilt recreates the look of a polished dragon fang, capped with a grey pommel that was, in lore, stamped with the seal of the ancient elf, Ecthelion of the Fountain. As a LARP weapon, this sword is superbly balanced and incredibly hardy, as well as remarkably safe for use. It is crafted from heavy foam latex and sealed in a rubber coating, giving it spring and strength. A fiberglass core ensures that the weapon remains appropriately shaped and solid, while still giving it some flex to bend when under duress. Brutally effective in its design, The Hobbit - Thorins Orcrist LARP Sword will serve its wielders with all the same effectiveness that the original Orcrist served Thorin, making it a blade for all foes, not just goblins and orcs, to greatly fear.
