Description

The Saxon Scramasax was the typical sidearm of both the Saxons and Norse Vikings between the 4th and 10th centuries. Thanks to its long and heavy duty blade, the scramasax was ideal as both a close quarters weapon and a tool to use for everyday tasks. Crafted from 1566 high carbon steel, the blade itself on this seax reaches almost one whole foot of slashing and thrusting power. The wooden handle of this scramasax features authentic styling, with gleaming scrollwork along the hilt and knotwork on the pommel for a historic Viking appeal. Alongside the knife comes a stitched leather sheath with belt loops that allow you to carry the weapon horizontally, enhancing its convenience. Even better, the blade of this weapon has not been sharpened, allowing you the freedom to wield it safely or to sharpen it yourself! The Saxon Scramasax will add the appeal of the Viking Age to your era specific ensemble or, thanks to its functionality, to your assortment of everyday weapons.
