Functional Wakizashi

A companion sword often worn alongside a samurais katana in feudal Japan, the wakizashi served as a backup weapon in combat and was also used for close quarters fighting and ritual suicide. While katana were typically left at the entrance of a residence, wakizashi were often taken inside. Often shorter than katana, the functional wakizashi at Buying a Sword still possess wicked blades of at least 18 inches usually. These Japanese wakizashi are crafted with incredible attention to detail with high carbon steel blades and eye-catching ornamental elements that make them ideal for martial artists and collectors. Several of our pieces are limited edition wakizashi, as well. Our battle ready wakizashi are made by some of the top manufacturers in the world like Hanwei, Cold Steel, and Ritter Steel, so you know that you are getting a high quality oriental sword when you pick out one of these fantastic samurai wakizashi.
